The Quinceañera is a Celebration...

The Quince Años is a celebration of faith, and traditions. A sweet 15 is the Hispanic tradition of celebrating a young girl’s coming of age - her 15th birthday. This special event is celebrated in the countries of Central and South America as well as throughout the Caribbean. It is one of the most important birthdays of a young girl's life. Essentially, the girls celebrating a Quinceañera is treated like a princess.

The Quinceañera Waltz can be followed by a specially crafted choreography that she and her Court of Honor perform.  So the Quinceañera Waltz is their first public dance.  A dance is essential in any Quinceañera event.

Among the key facets of arranging your Quinceañera party is deciding on  what to wear.  Dresses suitable for a Quinceañera can be found at any store selling formal dresses.

The Quinceañera is required to take a class at her church before her 15th birthday.  The Quinceañera has deep religious traditions in Mexican and Mexican-American families.  The Quinceañera is presented to the center of the alter for the mass.  Deep in cultural and religious meaning,  the Quinceañera is a very important Rite Of Passage For The Latino Community.

After the Quinceañera mass, the Quinceañera can choose to do the crowning, changing of shoes, and the doll presentation.  The headpiece worn by the Quinceañera is to be replaced with a Quinceañera tiara or crown.  The tradition of changing the shoes of the Quinceañera is yet another way to symbolize this change.
